Terms & Conditions
Welcome to PI – Pergola Installations, a professional company specializing in Pergolux installations with sub-base completion. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using our services.
Completion of Sub-Base: Customers are responsible for ensuring that the sub-base is completed prior to the installation of the pergola. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the sub-base is level, free from debris and able to support the weight of the pergola. Failure to complete the sub-base to a satisfactory standard may result in additional charges. Pergolux recommend 850mm3 although they state a 450mm x 450mm x 450mm concrete pad under all posts/columns would be sufficient in most circumstances. This is a recommendation, however if they are not in place and the pergola is affected in anyway due to winds or such like, PI will not take responsibility. We understand some patios or floor coverings have already been lair prior to purchasing the Pergola, In this case please check with suppliers or PI for more info and clarity.
If the base/ patio isn’t adequate for the installation and we cannot complete, or even start the installation, the customer will still be liable to pay 60%, or maximum £700, of the installation cost to cover the cost of the wasted time.
Floor covering: For all installs that go onto Porcelain tiles. We use special bits to drill through the tile to avoid cracking. However PI do not take responsibility or liability for cracking tiles if it is affected by poor laying of the tiles in the first place. Eg: hollow areas under the tile, laid onto sand, or gaps under the tiles. All of the above could cause the tile to crack during drilling or later on when there is wind.
Failed installation: If for any reason not created by PI, we are unable to start or complete the installation, the client will be responsible to pay for the extra time needed to return and complete the installation. The price will vary from 70% of the install cost for a none started, to £350 for any small minor issues.
Glass walls: Glass can only be installed correctly if the floor surface is flat and level. Check the pergolux website for more info on this. www.pergolux.co.uk. Failure to comply will mean not installing the walls, and a charge of 70% of the cost of the walls having to be charged. Main item to note, the fall off the patio can’t be more than 14mm over a 3 meter span.
Sealing glass walls. Siliconing between frame and patio can be done on request. Please note: there are no guarantee that this will make it 100% watertight and water may well still come in. There are many mitigating factors to make it almost impossible to seal perfectly.
Wall mounted pergola’s: Glass walls can not be installed if the ground is not perfectly flat and level and at a 90 degree to the house wall.
The wall itself needs to be free of any pipe’s, lights, obstacles that will get in the way fitting the pergola. If the install is unable to go the customer will still be liable to pay 70%, or maximum £700, of the installation cost to cover the cost of the wasted time.
Electrical work: PI will wire up the pergola as per the specs from supplier, however it is the clients responsibility to make sure there is adequate supply of power to within 500mm from the pergola (back left one the SkyDance model). You need at least 1 external socket installed, depending on how many appliances you will have.
Heaters: We now install the heaters for free, on condition they are on site when we do the main installation. We will not return to install a heater that was delivered late or was found damaged during the main installation.
Liability: PI takes every precaution to ensure that our work is carried out to the highest standard. However, we accept no liability for any damage caused by faulty installation from the customers side, or any other factors beyond our control. Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We take no responsibility for customers who have order the wrong product, and a fee will be charged if we come to sit end d the works can’t be carried out.
Payment: Payment for services will be an upfront payment of a 25% deposit. Failure to pay the deposit could lead to a cancellation of the installation. The remaining amount to be made in full upon completion of the installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing. If installation can’t be completed due to missing parts, damage goods or wrong delivery, full payment will still be expected as this is not an installation failure. A return visit will need to be arrange, and this could also mean communication with the supplier. Failure to make payment may result in legal action being taken to recover the outstanding balance. The deposit is none refundable if installation is cancelled by the customer.
Cancellation: If a customer wishes to cancel their installation, they must inform us in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation date and will result in a 30% admin fee. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a higher cancellation fee.
Damaged Boxes: Customers are required to check all boxes and packaging for any visible damage before we arrive to complete the installation. If any items are found to be visibly damaged, the customer must inform PI and Pergolux immediately. If the customer fails to notify PI and Supplier of any damage before we arrive, they will be required to pay 50% of the total cost for the installation for a return visit once the new pergola has been delivered. The same goes with any missing boxes or items that come seperate to the packaged items.
Changes to Terms: PI reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
By using our services, you agree to the above terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before proceeding with your installation.
